NYCBW explores New York City through black-and-white film from the perspective of a resident who knows is leaving. Continuing an earlier exploration of monochrome photography, the project moves beyond the distractions of color to focus on the city’s shapes: bridges, buildings, train platforms, streets, and the people that surrounds them.
Made during the routines of everyday life rather than dedicated photographic excursions, the images observe fleeting moments and transient spaces that speak closely to the rhythms of New York.
